@Jelial17 Good points.
@HighRiseChateau and must be vectored to our back-up organ, the skin.
@HighRiseChateau Everyone is unique and that’s why we all react differently to all the several treatments available. I am a strong believer that the health of the skin and the gut are intimately linked; after all, the lining of the gut is a special type of skin, which required the same nutrients as our external skin. When someone’s gut is compromised then undigested proteins, pathogens and toxins pass through the gut and they can no longer be eliminated through feces
I agree that some of the solutions provided by doctors are not the best, that why, based on my experience, I decided to take a completely different route. So far it has worked wonders. Since I was 17 I was prescribed a bunch of antibiotics. hormones including birth control pills and nothing has given the results that I am experiencing now. what I like the most is that there are no side effects. Accutane is form a Vitamin A, which could easily be replaced with fermented cod liver oil.
I always find it kind of strange that doctors try to tackle female acne with birth control pills. Acutane/Amnesteem is the most powerful anti-acne pill on the market, and it’s not a birth control pill. Then again maybe Accutane is too strong for female hormones or something. Also, based on my experience, acne has extremely little to do with daily lifestyle. I used to have severe acne, then went on Acutane, now I can eat whatever. Also beware of the “natural remedies” most don’t work.
@AndreaJuliet Feel free to email to jelial17@yahoo.com if you have any questions that I can help you with. =)
@AndreaJulet Once you have eiminated candida, the next step is to heal the gut and then your skin would be perfect. I am always glad to share any information if you would like to. I hate when derms just find antibiotics, hormones and creams as the only resource to treat acne patients. I took antibiotics for a very long time without knowing the harm that I was causing to my body. I’m no doctor, but I would strongly recommend you not to take any antibiotics.
I totally understand and that’s why I decided to take a totally different route. I’m not using the retin-a anymore because Acne is an inside problem. As you maybe have read in all my other comments I am addressing my skin problems through good nutrition and natural supplements. Most of the time the root cause is candida, which is a bacteria that compromised the function of our gut and prevents our body from absorbing vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc that our skin need to be healthy.
How did the retin A work out for you? I started the gel a month ago at .01%. My derm also gave me a prescription for an antibiotic, but I didn’t get it because I just didn’t want to start down that road. I hate acne and wish I would never have another zit again!
Basically it is based on a lifestyle and dietary modifications. Try to go to bed before 11, you’ll notice that the better you rest the better you’re skin will look. Step 1 eliminate candida and detox your system. A liver flush that I do every 3 to 4 months is based on green apples, epson salt, grapefruit and olive oil. (If you want more detail feel free to let me know) Step 2 repair your gut, through raw daily products and other supplements that I don’t know because I haven’t gotten there yet.
I also take probiotics and cod liver oil daily. The probiotics are to help build a stronger intestinal flora. Also try to cook your vegetables, so it would be more easy for your digestion. If you want you can send an email (shantihcoro@gmail.com) to my nutritionist explaining him your situation, he is always willing to help. Another thing is try to avoid vegetable oil and cook with butter and olive oil instead, it is healthier and testier.
It really doesn’t cost much if you buy your food at farmers markets, which sometimes it is cheaper than regular stores. As of now I am not eating any refines carbohydrates, no refined sugars, no dairy or fermented food. My fruits are limited to berries and green apples. The reason why is because candida feeds from sugar. The supplements to eradicate the candida overgrowth is called Amazon C-F which doesn’t cost too much, maybe 30 bucks and it last about a month.
@Jelial17 I know I used to eat organic and went to a nautural doctor, but I got fired from my job so I have no money to buy what I need to becasue my family is not on the same page. But if you don’t mind me asking what kind of stuff do you avoid in your diet?
Because our gut is the mirror of our skin. The 1st step is to get ride of the candida overgrowth, which is a bad bacteria (but we still needed) that works together with our intestinal flora. The problem starts when the levels of candida exceed the levels of good bacteria (intestinal flora). The 2nd step is to repair the gut, which with lead to have acne-free skin. I would be more than glad to share more info of what I am doing if you would like to. =)
Hi! Well, I stopped taking the aldacatone and birth control since the middle of last year. I got tired of going to the doctor and just getting a higher dose. In may of last year, the dermatologist asked me if I would like to continue taking the aldactone because studies had shown that it causes cancer when it’s taken for a long term. I started a treatment with a holistic (functional) nutritionist. I have changed my way of eating, taken some supplements and probiotics to help repair my gut.
I started taking spironlactone which is practically like Aldactone and I’m taking the 50 mg….and I see little results but not like WOW! I think I need 100mg or 125mg. But What kinda really helps me with acne is sea buckthorn…google it, it really helps! but how do you feel on the Aldactone?
I have also stopped taking the birth control and will get instead the copper IUD. I don’t want to be messing with my hormones any more. Our skin is a reflection of our gut and wit healthy gut you will have a healthy skin. Many doctors say that food has nothing to do with acne, but believe it does! If you want more information feel free to post a comment or email me : jelial17@yahoo.com. I would be more than happy to share infor with you.
Hi fancyfarah! I also got 2 laser treatments and after the second one I was fine for about a month or two until I started noticing tiny breakouts around my chin and it got worse from there. I went back to my doctor and gave me aldactone and changed my birth control to diane. I got tired of all that medicine, so I stopped it and started treating my skin with a holistic nutritionist, after 5 months of changing my way of eating and following his instructions my skin has gotten a lot better.
hey jelial i was just wondering that have you noticed that ur acne hay have come back after ur laser treatment ? because after the use of my medicine i was just free from acne for 11 months and during these acne free duration i have twice of co2 laser my skin does look much better and smoother but after the second laser treat ment i started some really ugly and big break outs do tell me ur opinion about it because this question is been eating me up …do reply me back plzzz
The aldactone stops acne due to hormones.I have no problems anymore!
I had to go on benzaclin topical gel and stievamycin as i started breaking out again. I still on aldactone.
Im using no topical creams on my face and everything is drying up itself!! I am making my own face wash at home with sour cream or yogurt as a base, cinnamon, fruit and honey and whip it up in the blender.
That’s great!! Well, I’m taking 100 mg daily. It has just been three days so, I think I got to wait more days to start seing changes =D. Are you watchng what you eat? My doctor told me to control myself with foods that contain high potassium levels. Are you using any topical cream? Last year I got two sessions of fraxel laser to remove the scars, it was going pretty good, but I started breaking out again :s. I just gotta be patient.
@Jelial17 I had a chemical peel and laser treatment the end of november. Three weeks later I was still breaking out around my ears, left cheek, chin and nose! I didn t want to go on pills but thought I didn t want to scar my new skin and read about the aldactone and decided it was hormones!! I only being on it 10 days at 50g and noticed already my nose pores are smaller and the breakouts are drying up and no more pimles around my ears!! Im gonna up next week to 75 g.
Hi Kidders38! I just started Aldactone three days ago. What kind of changes have you seen?
